All "vaporware" at the moment but the aim is to develop a Visual Basic application running on Windows 95 or 98 connected to the electronics via the parallel port and it will have the following functionality: -

• Database of cars
• Database of drivers
• Database of race results including lap times etc.
• Calculate handicaps based on lane, car or driver
• Upload race results to website
• Sense cars on start line and control the start light sequence to be displayed on screen
• Detect jumped starts and apply a time penalty
• Measure and display the following: -
• driver reaction time at the start
• initial car acceleration off start line
• lap times
• car top speed
• the number of laps completed
• current race positions
