Introduction

Like many I owned a Scalextric set with cars manufactured by VIP (1960's Ferrari and Lotus with independent front suspension and steering) during my childhood and now being forty something going on four I felt the need for bigger boys toys! But oh how I wish I'd kept the old cars!

Lots of the information I used was gleaned from the Internet and I thank those who provided the inspiration and information and I hope this provides an inspiration for others. The construction of the first track took about 5 months of spare time during which I also boarded the loft and fitted a kitchen. The end result is a 4 lane track with a length of 12.7m this site details the build process, cars and other related information.
