The options are in several groups.
Outward Mail Options
Encrypt Make it impossible for anyone other than the intended recipients to read the message. This is the most common usage.
Sign Make it impossible for anyone to tamper with your message without detection. This also makes it difficult for you to disavow the message.This is quite common in public forums when it's important for people to believe that they are reading your exact words - not a forgery.

Outward Forum/News/Mailing List Posting Options
Inward Messages
There are no options relating to inward messages. This is because in nearly all cases, Mollusc 5 and PGP automatically decide on the correct processing.
