The Demon Drink...

The throttle goes both ways - but only one of them is fun!

Another bloody Haylock :-(

So it came to pass, at about 9pm on Saturday night, that I was feeling somewhat less than 100% after 'The Mat Bell Experience (tm)', and decided that I ought to head up the road to pick up some Nurofen for the thumping headache that I then developed. I encased myself in leather - don't want to take any chances with the roads being icy - and threw my leg over my trusty steed, and headed off up the road. Just as I turned right, and started down a steepish hill, the engine died - I was out of fuel. No problem - it was on the cards, so I carried on coasting down the hill as I fiddled with the reserve tap......

I reached the bottom of said hill before I realised that the reserve tap, which is remote and presumably cable operated on the FM, had bastard well frozen solid. I therefore had to push the bike - which is a heavy lump - about 1/2 a mile up a steep hill on the other side of the dip to get it to a petrol station - just what you want to do when you are suffering from a severe attack of Mat Bell. By the time I got the bike to the brow of the hill, and coasted down the other side to the petrol station, I was in a right state. Once at the petrol station, I (fortunately) took my lid off before, very shortly afterwards, chucking my guts up down an adjacent roadside drain. Talk about delayed action...

Anyway, my reserve tap is still frozen solid...
