The French Tourism Minister - who looks a lot better on a podium than most British Ministers ever do - made a speech inviting Brits to go to France while the World Cup was on.
It is going to be a party she said. It's going to be fun. The French are hospitable. The French are nice. They will make you welcome. Come along and join the party.
And what do the British government say?
If you don't have a ticket to a match don't
travel
They spent thousands on their message. (Thousands of our
money)
And what do they mean by it? Who are they to say who should go to France or not? Hundreds of thousands of British people are in France right now. We go there all the time. What they really mean is they don't want English football fans in France. What they really mean is they don't want the English working class in France. It's good enough for them but it isn't good enough for the rest of us.
Well, so much for them. If we want to go to France we'll go to France. I'm almost tempted to go just because the prats in Millbank Towers said I shouldn't.
