JBDupes

This utility searches for duplicate files over one or more drives and gives the option to delete unwanted duplicates. It is a complete rewrite of a program called Dupes which came out some years ago.

The search only takes place on filenames with or without the filename extensions being taken into account. Once the drive(s) infomation have been gathered then an option to include the filename extension in the comparison is allowed.

After all the duplicate files have been found then a file list is shown.

In this mode some information concerning the file highlighted and the following file can be shown for comparison purposes.

It is also possible to do a Comparison of the two files and a file may be viewed either in a Hex viewer or in Word (in Text format with the Read Only attribute set so that changes can't be made to the file).

Once all the files have been marked they can then be deleted - you will remain in the file list so that additional files can be checked and marked for deletion.
