Great News!
David Dorn brings you news of developments
here on PPC, including a massive programme of downloads, as well as
some amazing tech chats
Over the years we’ve been bringing Practical PC to
AOL members’ eyes, we’ve discovered that you’re very fond of good
downloads. With that in mind, from Monday 10 June 2002 we’ll be
starting our new Daily
Download programme.
Supported by those awfully nice people at SoftWrap,
we’ll be uploading a superb piece of software every weekday, and two
for weekends, for you to download. They’ll be shareware – try before
you buy, if you like – and just for a taster, we’ve already uploaded
one of the programs for you to have a look at.
it’s about.
But there’s more. As well as there being a whole new
raft of top software for you to download, we’re even going to be
running a regular draw for top prizes, linked with SoftWrap – so you
never know, you could be in the running for a new PDA, a Digital
Camera or, ooh, all sorts of things!
Keep your eyes peeled here for more information on
that one!
Tech Chats.
As you know, we host a chat every Monday night from
9pm to 10pm in the Practical PC Chat room. One of the things we’ve
done in that past that’s proved very popular has been to invite
techies from leading companies to come along and get involved, to
answer your questions on the subjects they know best.
Well, forewarned is fore-armed, as they say, so I’m
here to tell you that a couple of the brainiacs from Belkin
will be along real soon now to answer all your questions about USB,
USB 2 and FireWire.
Whenever we’ve held a Guest Chat like this before,
the room’s been packed out, so keep your eyes peeled for the date,
and get along early. We don’t, as PC users, often get the chance to
talk to the guys that actually design (and in some cases invent)
this stuff, so don’t miss out.
The date for the chat will be posted on the
Main PPC Menu, as will links to the
SoftWrap supported competitions, so come back every day and make
sure you don’t miss out!
