Paste from Web without the Formatting (Word XP)

David Dorn shows you how to lose the Web fonts and get things your way.

Have you used Office or Word 2002 to copy and paste from the Web only to discover you brought along the web formatting in the process? After pasting from the web into Word, you will see an object user interface pop upon the right side of the pasted text and look like a square with a clipboard in the middle of it.

If you click on the icon and choose "Keep Text Only", you will eliminate the formatting from the web site.

Alternatively, you can choose “Match Destination Formatting”, which has a decent attempt at doing what it says on the tin! Either way, it's a great tip for when you're very late with the homework!
