Install Backup to Windows XP Home

Backup is not installed, by default in Windows XP Home. David Dorn has the fix!

You’d have thought that Microsoft would realise that even we Home users need to back up our data files, but in an effort to differentiate between the Professional and Home versions of Windows XP, they left Backup out of the Home version.

Except, of course, they didn’t really!

You can install the Backup program, and thus keep your data safe by backing up regularly. It’s on the Windows XP CD in \VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP.

Just insert your Windows XP CD, open it up and navigate to the folder, and click on the executable – you will have your Backup program!
