Cool Icons

Do you fancy some different desktop icons? Here’s how to get them

You can get to a large stash of icons to use with your desktop shortcuts – here’s how:

• Right click on the shortcut you want to change, and select <Properties>.

• Click on the “Shortcut” tab

• Click on “Advanced”

• You will need to select a file in which reside sets of icons. Try these:

C:\Windows\System\explorer.exe

C:\Program Files\Plus!\Microsoft Internet\IEXPLORE.EXE

C:\Windows\System\cool.dll

C:\Windows\System\pifmgr.dll

• Pick your new icon, and “OK” your way back out

That’s it, you’ve done it – your new icon will be assigned to your shortcut.
