Match your text to your wallpaper
PPC shows you how to change the colour of the
text under your desktop icons so that you can see it against your
wallpaper.
There’s a growing trend for folks to have a pretty
picture as a backdrop to their Windows desktop, and what with RAM
being so cheap, that’s not really a problem these days. But what do
you do if your picture “clashes” with the descriptive text
underneath the icons on your desktop?
Fear not – help is at hand. The colour of the text
is actually determined by the desktop colour, so here’s how to
change both at once (and since you’re using a wallpaper image,
you’ll only see the colour of the desktop change.
-
1 – right click on the desktop
-
2 – select “properties”
-
3 – select the “appearance” tab
-
4 – on the “item” dropdown, select “Desktop”
-
5 – pick a colour and click on “apply” – you
should see the text colour change
-
6 – once you’ve found the best choice, click on
OK, and the job’s done!
