TOTW – get your columns sized

Do the columns in Windows Explorer or “My Computer” show you everything? If not, David Dorn has the answer.

From this - not fitting...Quite often, when you’re navigating your hard disk(s) in Details view, you’ll see what’s known as ellipses (three dots – “…”) following an entry in the “name” column of the file view. What they mean is that there’s more information to be had.

Rather than manually re-size your columns so that you can see what’s there, all you need to do is hold down the CTRL key and tap the numeric keypad plus key “+”. As if by magic, your columns will resize so that the longest entry in the “Name” (or any other) column will fit. It doesn’t matter than you can’t necessarily see the longest entry – it’s all automatic.

...to this - all neatly arrayed and everything fits.
