The GPS 4400 is a complete street navigation solution well suited for consumers and professionals who use Bluetooth-enabled PDAs or Tablet PCs. The device features a high-performance GPS receiver that provides accurate location information within 5 meters. For optimal signal reception, its versatile design, including a variety of mounts, allows for dashboard, sunroof or rear window mounting. The GPS 4400 also features an embedded, Class 2 Bluetooth transceiver, which is capable of communicating with any Serial Port Profile Bluetooth device, within a 10 meter radius.

Bluetooth provides a strong, reliable and secure connection between devices and also eliminates the need to use valuable memory / expansion slots. The unit is equipped with a blinking blue LED that displays connectivity status and a red LED for low battery warning.

Powered by Navman's award-winning navigation software, SmartST Professional, the GPS 4400 provides detailed street-level mapping for Western Europe, address-to-address routing, Back-on-track rerouting when off-course and an extensive points-of-interest library. Large display icons and easy-to-read maps provide an operator-friendly interface for added safety while driving. The software is fully automatic and provides voice guidance, in addition to visual driving instructions. Map data for SmartST Professional is sourced from Navigation Technologies (NavTech) The world leader in cartography.

The complete GPS 4400 solution includes a wireless GPS antenna, SmartST Professional navigation software, a vehicle power adapter, vehicle mounting brackets, and both an armband and lanyard for outdoor personal use. The unit operates for approximately 30 hours on 3 AAA Alkaline batteries. This is about 4 times as long as it's rivals.

Navman have released a new ServicePack for the GPS 4400, making it 100 % compatible with all new PocketPC 2003 devices.
This service release fixes problems discovered with the PocketPC 2003 operating system - this problem manifested itself as the PDA "crashing" at roundabouts, and freezing during normal use.
