Klaus Zimmer, born 1928 in Berlin, has been living in Australia for 45 years. He has an international reputation as a glass artist and is a co-founder of the Australian Studio Glass movement. He works in Melbourne, where he manages his firm Australia Studios, and designs and manufactures stained glass.

Zimmer says:
"Once an idea is born my work develops naturally - almost intuitively - using the craft skills learned and applied over decades of working with glass and lead. These, together with aspects of painting, drawing and etching learned long before, assist the creative process which enables the idea to materialise in its most approximate form."
