. A Personal View of the World...
The personal web site is the ultimate in vanity publishing. However, to paraphrase the classic quip, your web page is only worth as much as the virtual paper that it is printed on.  So if you find my pages worthwhile then I must be on to a winner!

I designed this site to be viewed using a display of at least 800x600 pixels with 24 bit colour.  If you are still wedded to the VGA standard (640x480 pixels and 256 colours) then don't worry - everything will still work - because I've limited the size of my photographs to ensure that they will fit the width of your display.

The latest facility to be added to this site is a link to a commercial site that provides street maps by post code or longitude/latitude.  I think that this is a very useful facility.  I've implemented it so that the map should open in a new browser window, so that it can be minimized while you work through my site and maximized when you wish to refer to it again.  My apologies for taking this liberty, but the maps are relatively slow to load so this seemed the best thing to do.  If this gives you problems, or if you simply don't like this approach, then please let me know.  For more information on the maps please click this link.

The model I used when developing these pages was the scratch pad.  These are my thoughts and jottings.  When you see something that excites you - let me know about it.  Any tips, hints, URLs etc., that occur to you while visiting my site will also be welcome.  E-mail me as bobharve@cix.co.uk

Unless I state otherwise, all text, graphics and photographs  are my own work.  The  graphics are inspired by the work of Jelane at http://www.erinet.com/jelane/families/

Please respect my copyright.  Should you wish to use something from these pages then ensure that it is correctly attributed and obtain my permission before publishing in any form.

I will be changing these pages as and when I have the material.  FYI it took me four months to develop this site - most of which time was spent experimenting with different layouts and styles.  I wanted to create a feeling of gentle relaxation rather than hard sell.  I hope that I have succeeded and that you will want to come back again.  You will find more information about the development of this site from my site history page.  My primary development tools are Netscape's Composer tool to edit the HTML text and Paint Shop Pro 5 to create/process the photographs and graphical elements.

To avoid any possible doubt I ask you to note that the content of these pages reflects my personal views which may differ from those of any organization with which I am associated.

Yours

Bob Harvey
